Written by on April 14, 2026

Omotola Don Make Nollywood History And She Give All her Profit Away!

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde no be person wey do things small small. Her first film wey she direct, Mother’s Love, don cross ₦100 million for box office  and she no keep even one kobo for herself.

Every single naira? Charity. All of am. Gone. Na so Mother’s Love become the first Nollywood film ever to donate 100% of im box office money to charity. Nigerians never shout like this since the great jollof war wey scatter Twitter back in the day.

The Film Wey Scatter Everything

Mother’s Love no open with plenty noise. No big billboard wahala, no celebrity drama for press tour. Na just Omotola, strong story, and cast and crew wey clearly no come to play. Then box office talk. ₦100 million. Collected. Sharp sharp.

THE MOTHERS LOVE

THE MOTHERS LOVE

The charity wey go receive the money never announce publicly yet, but people close to the production say the agreement tight well well no backdoor, no “we go see.”

Nobody Never Do This Before. Nobody At All.

Nollywood dey make serious money, we all know. Films dey land, credits dey roll, everybody dey chop. But to carry whole film from script reach cinema, then give everything every last kobo to charity? That one never happen before.

Omotola no just produce movie. She build something, sell am out, then redirect the whole profit before the poster even cold. Social media? E don go. People dey tag their mama, dey send voice notes in capital letter, acting like na them personally donate the money. We know una never donate anything but God bless una energy.

Whether other Nollywood people go follow this style, nobody fit say for now. But the bar don shift for a room wey nobody expect Omotola to enter. She enter anyway. Carry receipt. Leave the money behind. Na so legends move.
